Socks and Flip-Flops

"Uncle" Kyle this is for YOU!!!

We had a rough evening and so after an hour of attempting to make dinner with no success we ended up heading to McDonalds.  Elijah was in his socks but I told him it was okay as we were only going through the drive-thru.  He insisted on wearing shoes.  Kyle and I headed to the garage while Elijah went to his room for shoes.  This is how Elijah appeared! And of course, he was VERY proud of himself!

Kyle, what do you think? haha

Here we go again. . .(2nd post)

Sorry, I am home for spring break. . .I actually have TIME to post! haha!

Kyle's favorite new hangout spot

Kyle just relaxing

Can you tell he is nude? haha

Let me explain. . .
We have a sandbox in our yard (thanks a lot Dad).  The boys LOVE it! They would be out there all day everyday if I let them.  The problem? They make a HUGE mess and end up with sand EVERYWHERE! This particular day, Elijah had played in the sandbox and brought sand ALL OVER the house! I made him go outside and strip while I vacuumed the house! He thought it was hilarious that I wanted him to take even his underwear off outside! When I got done vacuuming, this is what I saw outside! I actually have a really funny one but knew he would kill me someday if I posted it on a blog! haha!

Two Elijah Stories:
Elijah remembers EVERYTHING! This can be good but sometimes is quite unfortunate! At some point, Elijah must have heard a Cymbalta commercial.  I wouldn't know what it was at all except this is what he told me two nights ago when he was getting in the bath.  "Does everything hurt Mommy? Maybe you should try Cymbalta!"

I have been running in the mornings.  I pick this "habit" up off and on.  Elijah doesn't usually know when I run because I do it before he wakes up.  This week, I have been running a little bit later.  Yesterday, I came in with a VERY red face because 1) I am not in the best shape and 2) it was very warm outside.  Elijah told me that my face was red and asked me if I wanted him to get the blue "allergies" out of the fridge to put on me.  I was a little confused about what he was talking about.  Then I remembered the conversation we had several weeks(if not months) ago about the blue Aloe Vera that we keep in the fridge and what it was for! haha!

Not a nester?

NO, I am NOT pregnant. . .I am referring to my two past pregnancies! In which, I actually was a nester but it was more of an EVERY inch of EVERY room needed to be spotless type nesting. Kyle is 1. . . actually he is 14 months old! My point, I am still getting his room put together! I was the same way with Elijah but the true reason for that was lack of funds! With Kyle, circumstances just prevented it! First of all, his bedding took 8 weeks (yes, I wrote that correctly) to get in.  It was ordered in early December and didn't arrive until a couple of weeks after his arrival which was 3 weeks early.  So, as time has gone on, we have added more and more to his room.  I am absolutely in love with the newest piece we have in his room.  I am an anal organizer.  I actually really enjoy doing it.  Elijah's toys each have a place.  .  . and he actually knows where that place is.  So, when I found this toy organizer I knew it was what we had been looking for! You can find it here.

And here are some pictures of Kyle's room:

We need to get his "castle" outside but it has been great having it inside for the boys to play with during the winter!

The following two pics are things painted by two special women in our lives!

Rocket ship and border by my Mom
Wouldn't it have been nice for my Mom to give me some of this talent? Nope, she didn't! haha!
We love you Grandmother (Elijah was on a Land Before Time kick when he "named" her!)!

Name canvas by NaiNai(aka Cheryl Merrill)
Cheryl keeps Kyle for us! They have such a special bond and it has brought all of us amazingly close to her! She has become like a Mom away from Mom to me! Elijah adores her too! He lovingly calls her "NightNight"!

This isn't a very good pic. . .but you get the idea! :)

Cowboy Elijah (Post 2)

If you know us at all, then you know we are NOT country type people! That being said, a few weeks ago, Elijah had cowboy day at school.  We scrounged up a pair of cowboy boots(thanks Stephanie) and a got a cheap cowboy hat from Wal-Mart.  Although this isn't my style, I thought he looked pretty cute!

His poor little face is so chapped here.  He had just recovered from having croup, strep, and flu all at the same time! :( Poor baby!

Caught Ya!

Kyle is nothing like Elijah was at this age! I knew there would be differences in my two boys but never dreamed they would be so drastically different! While I tell everyone Kyle is my laid back child, he is definitely more interested in things than Elijah was.  Elijah was so content to play with whatever I put in front of him that he never really got into things.  Kyle on the other hand is VERY curious about EVERYTHING! We never got cabinet locks, removed things from low places, etc when Elijah was a baby but we are having to do just that with Kyle.  A few weeks ago, this is what I walked in the kitchen to see!

Oops. . .she caught me!
