Here we go again. . .(2nd post)

Sorry, I am home for spring break. . .I actually have TIME to post! haha!

Kyle's favorite new hangout spot

Kyle just relaxing

Can you tell he is nude? haha

Let me explain. . .
We have a sandbox in our yard (thanks a lot Dad).  The boys LOVE it! They would be out there all day everyday if I let them.  The problem? They make a HUGE mess and end up with sand EVERYWHERE! This particular day, Elijah had played in the sandbox and brought sand ALL OVER the house! I made him go outside and strip while I vacuumed the house! He thought it was hilarious that I wanted him to take even his underwear off outside! When I got done vacuuming, this is what I saw outside! I actually have a really funny one but knew he would kill me someday if I posted it on a blog! haha!

Two Elijah Stories:
Elijah remembers EVERYTHING! This can be good but sometimes is quite unfortunate! At some point, Elijah must have heard a Cymbalta commercial.  I wouldn't know what it was at all except this is what he told me two nights ago when he was getting in the bath.  "Does everything hurt Mommy? Maybe you should try Cymbalta!"

I have been running in the mornings.  I pick this "habit" up off and on.  Elijah doesn't usually know when I run because I do it before he wakes up.  This week, I have been running a little bit later.  Yesterday, I came in with a VERY red face because 1) I am not in the best shape and 2) it was very warm outside.  Elijah told me that my face was red and asked me if I wanted him to get the blue "allergies" out of the fridge to put on me.  I was a little confused about what he was talking about.  Then I remembered the conversation we had several weeks(if not months) ago about the blue Aloe Vera that we keep in the fridge and what it was for! haha!

Not a nester?

NO, I am NOT pregnant. . .I am referring to my two past pregnancies! In which, I actually was a nester but it was more of an EVERY inch of EVERY room needed to be spotless type nesting. Kyle is 1. . . actually he is 14 months old! My point, I am still getting his room put together! I was the same way with Elijah but the true reason for that was lack of funds! With Kyle, circumstances just prevented it! First of all, his bedding took 8 weeks (yes, I wrote that correctly) to get in.  It was ordered in early December and didn't arrive until a couple of weeks after his arrival which was 3 weeks early.  So, as time has gone on, we have added more and more to his room.  I am absolutely in love with the newest piece we have in his room.  I am an anal organizer.  I actually really enjoy doing it.  Elijah's toys each have a place.  .  . and he actually knows where that place is.  So, when I found this toy organizer I knew it was what we had been looking for! You can find it here.

And here are some pictures of Kyle's room:

We need to get his "castle" outside but it has been great having it inside for the boys to play with during the winter!

The following two pics are things painted by two special women in our lives!

Rocket ship and border by my Mom
Wouldn't it have been nice for my Mom to give me some of this talent? Nope, she didn't! haha!
We love you Grandmother (Elijah was on a Land Before Time kick when he "named" her!)!

Name canvas by NaiNai(aka Cheryl Merrill)
Cheryl keeps Kyle for us! They have such a special bond and it has brought all of us amazingly close to her! She has become like a Mom away from Mom to me! Elijah adores her too! He lovingly calls her "NightNight"!

This isn't a very good pic. . .but you get the idea! :)

Cowboy Elijah (Post 2)

If you know us at all, then you know we are NOT country type people! That being said, a few weeks ago, Elijah had cowboy day at school.  We scrounged up a pair of cowboy boots(thanks Stephanie) and a got a cheap cowboy hat from Wal-Mart.  Although this isn't my style, I thought he looked pretty cute!

His poor little face is so chapped here.  He had just recovered from having croup, strep, and flu all at the same time! :( Poor baby!

Caught Ya!

Kyle is nothing like Elijah was at this age! I knew there would be differences in my two boys but never dreamed they would be so drastically different! While I tell everyone Kyle is my laid back child, he is definitely more interested in things than Elijah was.  Elijah was so content to play with whatever I put in front of him that he never really got into things.  Kyle on the other hand is VERY curious about EVERYTHING! We never got cabinet locks, removed things from low places, etc when Elijah was a baby but we are having to do just that with Kyle.  A few weeks ago, this is what I walked in the kitchen to see!

Oops. . .she caught me!

Sloppy Joes and a Birthday

You may be wondering what sloppy joes have to do with a birthday! Well, it has been so long since I have posted that I decided to combine two posts together!

First,  Elijah turned 4 on January 25! We had his party that Saturday and it sure was fun.  This was the first year that his "classmates" were invited to his party! Most of his class came and they were too cute! Because Elijah IS Peter Parker/Spiderman that was our theme! (Side story: the week of E's birthday, they sang to him during chapel time at school.  He stood up during the song, held his hand up and stopped them.  He declared, I am NOT Elijah, I am AM Peter Parker! Oh that kid. . . .) Here are some pics of the fun:

My Beautiful Birthday Boy

Spiderman came to the party!! (Thanks Matt!!!)

Spiderman and Little Spidies (some of them. . .one little girl was TERRIFIED of him! haha)

The chaos of opening presents. . .

Getting Venom. . .with silly string

On to the sloppy joes. . . .

Going back to WT, I was, I think, the ONE person that didn't dread going to the Wesley, BSM, etc for free lunch. I LOVED it because more often then not they served my FAVORITE. . . SLOPPY JOES! From as far back as I can remember, I have LOVED sloppy joes! Well, I married about the least picky eater in the world but guess what is the ONE thing he doesn't really care for. . .you guessed it. . . sloppy joes!!! My Mom shares the love with me so EVERY time we go to Guymon she treats me with them! Other than that, I don't get them very often! But tonight. . . .oh what a night! I came home from school to find Ricky standing at the stove cooking none other than SLOPPY JOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a sweet, sweet man!!! This of course was Kyle's first go round with them so pictures were a must!

Elijah enjoying his sloppy joe!

Kyle didn't really know what to think at first but ended up eating his fair share!

Kyle is ONE!!!

Kyle, our sweet little Kyle, turned one last Friday! It was such a fun day! I got to take the day off and just stay home with him! He is such a doll and so fun to be around! We celebrated his actual birthday together as a family complete with cupcakes. His party was Saturday! We had a great day!!!

KYLE IS ONE!!!

The cupcake I made him. . .he actually ate the ENTIRE thing!!!

His personal cake. . .he never made it past the icing but he sure did have fun with it!

Kyle and his friend, Benjamin Simmons(who is only 5 months old!!!! You can't tell but he is bigger than Kyle! We keep warning him not to try to make Ben mad! haha )

This isn't very good of either of them but it was the best we got. . .this is Kyle and his friend, Chava Nuckols

Elijah's new "two beds"

Elijah is a tall kid. . .always has been! He was born at 21 and 3/4 inches! He has always been at least in the 90th percentile in his height. Well, he was still sleeping in his cute, tiny, adorable little toddler bed(part of me doesn't want to let go of that little toddler boy)! Now, I don't want you to think I was torturing my child. . .he still fit. . .it was just a much snugger fit than I was comfortable with. So, my amazing parents told us they would buy Elijah a bed for Christmas/Birthday (since beds are expensive and the two are so close together). The day we mentioned this to Elijah he declared that he wanted "two beds". I'm not exactly sure where he learned of these "two beds" or bunk beds but he had his heart and mind set on them. We found the perfect beds for him at Kidspace (I had never really seriously looked there but they have some great stuff!)! We picked the beds up last Friday. Since Elijah was at a friends and then on to the movies we were hurriedly trying to "surprise" him by having the beds all together and made when he got home. Lets just say that the beds took a tad bit longer than we anticipated(plus we had a few errors in the assembly. . .but they are all fixed now)! Elijah, however, was delighted when he got home to see some of the process. He loves his new "two beds" and can't wait for the day that his Daddy and Mommy are brave enough to let him sleep on the top!!

The finished product:

Can you tell his excitement?

One last parting shot of my little guy! He will be four on the 25th!!! AAAHHH. . .where has the time gone??

My parents gave Ricky and I money for Christmas.  We invested that money in a good camera! This last picture is one of my favorites of Elijah so far! :) We are still learning but having a blast playing with our new toy! :)
